How to get more students to take physical education classes

Parents and school officials across the country have spent years pushing for more physical education programs.
In recent years, educators have taken to the airwaves to warn parents that physical education is a key to their kids’ health.
But they’ve also been working with schools to provide instruction and resources for students.

The National Association of State Boards of Education released a report in December that said the number of states that allow students to participate in physical education has increased since 2010.
The group’s national president, Mark G. Siegel, said that the report, “is the latest indicator of a growing national demand for physical education and a corresponding need for the nation’s physical education systems.”
